Motto: Veterans Pulling Together
We're looking for your veteran's story! See below, please.
Membership: $25.00 annually, payable to your local chapter.
We're also looking for stories to tell about our veterans.
Please
bring your pictures & info to Sharky's to share what veterans are doing to help make our world a better place.
Commander Allee retired from the Missouri Army National Guard after 25 years spent on active duty, active Guard duty, and as a weekend warrior. And yes, she says, she can call herself a weekend warrior if she wants to - she's damn proud of her service - active duty and National Guard! She's probably proudest of the time she spent overseas in Honduras after Hurricane Mitch wiped out the country's infrastructure. The Louisiana, Nebraska, and Missouri National Guard spent over a year in the Republic of Honduras rebuilding schools, roads, and digging wells for communities. Sad to say, just like the news media doesn't publish all the good we're doing overseas now, they never touched on the good the military did in the Honduras either.

Our flag has three bars; a red bar, a white bar, and a blue bar. These bars are in honor of Modern Day Veterans' home state flag, the Missouri flag. The black border is in protest of our Missing in Action veterans and POW's. The yellow ribbin in the eagle's claws symbolizes bringing our service members at war home safely. The angry eagle symbolizes that, "We, as Americans, are mad as hell and we're not gonna take it anymore!" Freedom isn't free and it is our veterans who pay the price.
Uniting fraternally, veterans and the families of veterans, in order to work together to better the lives of all veterans and their families and to assist with any difficulties encountered by them, Modern Day Veterans shall:
a. Help fellow veterans and their families receive the benefits for which they are entitled.
b. Find employment for veterans and their families.
c. Help the homeless veterans find housing and readjust to civilian life.
d. Carry on programs to perpetuate the memory of deceased veterans and members of the Armed Forces and
to comfort their families.
e. Sponsor or participate in activities of a patriotic nature.
f. Provide social and recreational activities for its members.
g. Assist the disabled and needy war veterans and their dependants.
h. Promote awareness of the prisoners of war and the missing in action issues.
i. Promote the general welfare and prosperity of all Modern Day Veterans corporations.
j. Present and support the purposes of the Modern Day Veterans before the public and the government.
Chapter 402 Veterans proudly served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. Continuing that service now, the Veterans bond together at Sharky's for social and recreational activities, participating in patriotic activities, comforting survivors, perpetuating memories of veterans, assisting the disabled, and their dependants. We are dedicated to veterans and their families. We hope to educate youth about patriotism and their responsibility to grow into voting adults. We strive to keep veterans and their needs in the forefront of our politicians minds.
Chapter 402 promotes the interests of our members in the community. If you would like a veteran to come to your classroom and give a talk concerning proper display of the flag, patriotism, or any similar related talk, contact Commander Mellody Allee at 660-596-2721.
If you're a veteran looking for a place to relax and accomplish some good things at the same time, Chapter 402
is what you're looking for.
We
continue to grow and expand and new members quickly become old friends.
